I found one at a local pawn shop. it seems in really good shape, rides ok,fits me ok has decent quality suntour parts, full 4130 cromemoly frame, rack and fender brazeons ,rear rack, but I think they want to much. I have been looking at entry level hybrids like this for a couple weeks now and they want almost as much for this bike. it literally needs nothing. I believe the parts on it are of better quality than current entry level, and I am tempted. what should I expect to pay? or is this too difficult to guess? I think its from the late '80s dur to the wide canti brakes. is there any way to acuratly date it ? serial # or other ways? thanks.

On the bike scene, this bike will have no value at all, too old, parts not up to todays standards, and quite frankly, probably extremely heavy compared to modern bikes. Bikes have improved in the last 5 years, let alone the 15 that this probably is.

Difference is, How much do you want it? I think you could do better by going to your lbs, but it is up to you. My suggestion is to rate it at the lower end of the bikes you are looking at, because that will be the 15years difference of technology, and then half the price of a new bike. And that is only if you really want this bike.
