Out With The Old, In With The New (Bike)

Well, I did it. I pulled the trigger on the GT Peace 9r today

The LBS and I agreed that I was the new owner of this tripped out 29" ride. He gave me a great trade-in on my Rainier, my wife just gave me a C-Note shop certificate for my Birthday a couple days ago, and I went on a rampage and sold a bunch of my excess paddling/camping toys and so I am out Nada, with a new bike I am picking her up Saturday.

I have no idea why I love the color, but I do This thing looks like it was sent out to the Toys-R-Us factory to be painted, or it's parents were trippin on shrooms during conception.

Look at her. Ain't she purty?

Reminds me of an old candy but other than the colors, nice bike!...But when it comes down to it, after I'm on a bike for 3 minutes, I couldn't tell you the color if you aksed!

Positively Rasta-rific. Maybe it's just you and me, but I think it looks great.

Thanks!

Well, it's not just a pretty face. It sports Deore rapid fire 9, which is great, as that was my last setup and It was flawless. Nothing new to learn beyond the ratios compared to the 26

Xmas sucked, my birthday was a bust, but Thursday, January 15 is great

I like the bike. It would be hard for someone to walk away with it.

I found a bike jersey to complement the look. With a bike like that you have to match!

I'm a guy who likes bikes from the 80's. Fades and weird colors do it for me.

It rocks.

What size gloves do you wear? Strange question I know, but I have a reason for asking.

Grateful...

Well, she can dance a Cajun rhythm, jump like a willys in four wheel drive.
She's a summer love for spring, fall and winter. She can make happy any man alive.

I think I want one!!!

Kinda personal ain't it? Even though I have kitten paws, I usually buy large.

WHOAH! Hey, I'd wear that! On an organized ride just to mess with minds!...Where did you find it?

I had a long sleeve tye-dye blue tshirt that I wore for a couple of years on the trail. Lots of guy hated it! Too bad when you're dropping their arses!

Well, bummer. One of the area LBS's had some matching gloves on clearance. I had planned on picking up a pair and sending them to you for the new bike.

I was too late, they're all gone

Trust me, you NEEDED these gloves. They would have been very handy if you ever wanted to try out for the Jamaican Bobsled team. They rocked.

Sigh

I am kind of a chubby dork. My fear is that people will see me on this "Sweet Ride" and think I escaped from the shelter care, stole a bike from Toy-R-Us, and am on the lamb The gloves would have probably sealed the deal

I did ask them to let me know if they run across a set laying around in back somehwere. There is still a glimmer, all be it a small one, of hope.
