i have 2 questions for you.

1. On the headshock models (fatty, p-bone, super fatty etc), do you find it much more stiffer then using "normal" forks?

2. What parts on a C'dale is not standard. When I saw standard, I mean like parts that only C'dale have and use. I know for a fact that they have 1.5 headtubes so the Stem, Headset would be something irregular. Also if you got a lefty, you need that speciahub . Did i leave out anything else?

I am thinking of picking up a 1999 Caad3 F600? for dirt ch eap and throwing on some spare parts i ahve around. Just wanted to know if there are any specific parts ill hafta look for.

AFAIK, you should be fine with the drivetrain, it will use standard parts. I have a CAAD 3 frame, and besides the headshock and stem, everything else on the bike is standard stuff.

EDIT: I don't claim to know it all, the info I have is my experience only, your frame could be different, but I doubt it.

The other "proprietary" stuff has to do more with CODA components. For example, their disc brake rotors and disc hubs are 4 - bolt, not the ISO standard 6-bolt pattern. If you buy a Jekyll, the rear shock is a trunion mount, so if you damage it, you have to buy a specific shock, not an "off the shelf" item.

Now, if you are a roadie, and have a C'Dale, you can add their bottom bracket to the list.

Me thinks that's it, or at least, all I can remember at this time. (Going on only 3 hrs sleep!)

Yeah, it's just the fork and head tube basically. I've got a couple of Cannondales that are both heavily modified and neither of them required any special componentry. Pretty standard, really.

Cannondales require exceptionally fast riders in order to maintain their kick a$$ reputation.
