Oil Leakage...Normal?
Hey, i just got a new 2002 Marz. Dirt Jumper II, and anyways...Last night i took the V brake bosses off, and while i was riding today, the arch was sliding up. So when i got home, i pushed the arch back down, and put the V brake bosses back on. But when I started to ride again, slowly oil was leaking out, not very much at all, but it WAS leaking.
Is this part of the break in process? or is something wrong?

Hint 2002-earlier Marzocchi forks, when there are v brake bosses on it, never ever remove them unles you have the plugs to replace them, removing the bosses then riding without them or the plugs can cause the fork to fall apart.

It should not leak from that area even when NEW. When you took the bosses out the arch losend up. You can try and ride now that you have the bosses back in but you may have messed something up on the stantions or arch. If it keeps leaking take it to the shop and have them take a look.
You are lucky they did not fall apart as Kona stated.

The arch is bonded onto the lowers and the brake bosses hold it all together. When you took the bolts out and rode it you broke the seal between the arch and the lowers allowing oil to leak out.
It's fixable but you will have to pay marzocchi to bond the arch to the lowers again otherwise it will continue to leak.
