Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Right? Lesson learned. Didn't know the savings of a possible $80 was so massive. I casually let the manager know yesterday, told him that I wasn't looking for money but to make sure they didn't overpay for them. He tagged me in the group ride today and said he owed me money. The gesture is good enough for me. KOM'd the little local hill sprint this morning, I'm blaming it on the shoes for now.

I do like the pedals once you're in them though. There's no play on the upstroke like there was with my SPD-SL's. Just getting clipped in has been a bit of an annoyance.

I picked up a set of these for almost half off a retail off of craigslist. Gotta love the impulse purchases of the college student who works at a bike shop that realizes that he should've used that money to pay down student loans instead.

Now I could use a new cassette to go with them.

Got a KILLER deal on this Rapha Pro team jacket! Will go nicely with my Rapha Insulated pro team bib shorts I'm gonna get for colder riding. The Rapha pro team line up is so amazing!

the price dropped on a set of Sram Rival cranks on amazon the other day to $116 and I couldn't resist. you can also see the Paul chain keeper I added a couple of weeks ago.

I like the look of the External BB

the cranks are fantastic, no more creaky square taper for me and they were a breeze to install!

If it's because of a cycling related injury, I'd say yes.

(and BTW, I'm taking some too because of my hip that I hurt last week. :/ )

I work for Oakley, so I got these just to improve my product knowledge.

I'm looking to get the Radarlocks for next year.
I love my Splitjackets since they're nice on or off my bike, even with the vented lenses.

Me neither...I should have them in a week or two, I don't think they're overkill for the bike I'm putting them on, a Surly Straggler, but I wanted to indulge myself and see what a decent pair of wheels is like versus stock.

It was on Ebay for $210 with zero watchers. It retails for $300 so with the shipping from Europe I still didn't think it was a SUPER sweet deal. I wrote the seller before the sell ended and asked him if he would accept $175 for it and he accepted. THAT'S a SUPER deal!!! Brand new with tags. I tried it on at the Rapha HQ here in Portland and it is simply amazing while standing in the lobby. We will have to see just how awesome it is while riding. I tend to get super hot in winter clothes, but the fact that nearly the entire back of the jacket is a breathable material, I'm expecting it to be pretty good.
