newbie greetings from Cleveland, OH...

Hello, all.

I am 32 and new to this whole cycling thing. Until this past summer, I was the (not so proud) owner of an old blue Ross 10-speed which I had not ridden in many years because, well, it wasn't a pleasure to ride. With all of the technological developments available, I wasn't sure where to begin in selecting a new one, but my boyfriend (who does both MTB & road biking) was able to point me in the right direction.

I bought a Gary Fisher Tarpon which serves my purposes well. It's not fancy or anything, but it's enough for tooling around in the Metroparks here in the 'burbs of Cleveland. I'm just glad because it's much more fun to ride than the Ross -- easier to shift gears, too. Hehe! That's old news for all of you, I'm sure, but sometimes the little things really count.

I had been reading posts on bicycleforum.com and now I am here, hoping to learn more about cycling.

Hi Julie, welcome to BF. Ohio is well represented here.

I'm down here about 10 mi. west of Akron near the Medina county line.

Enjoy
