Newb Question- BB and Crank Compatibility

Hello Gentlemen,
....... and I'm using gentleman loosely, but I have a very newb question. After spending months thinking that my rear derailleur was shot I took off the chain and spun the Crank and I've determined that my BB is shot. Doing a little research on the " raceface x type bb" this is quite normal- POS. So my question is am I limited as to what kinds of BB I have to buy. Does it have to be RACEFACE to be Compatible with my RaceFACE Cadence Crank? Or will any "English" thread BB work with the Crank? Thanks in advance fella's

get the road xtype bb. theyre cheap and not hard to find.

you COULD just get any 'road' bb that is 'hollowtec 2' and english thread. but i wouldnt my luck at it when i know a road xtype bb would work

and anything to do with your cadance wont have anything to do with your bb.
