riding a Dancelli for the first time

Hello to you all.
I am also one of the new ones here, so please let me introduce myself a little.
i have been enjoying biking most of my life, and i have had many kinds of bikes, but never ever a road bike. Recently i got an obsession with having a road bike after having seen my best friend buying a road bike spontaneously from the shop. A used Pinarello veneto- and i tell you- it looks great!!! Road bikes are beautiful-wow.
so i was sharing my dream about getting one too- since i had never had one- and what a surprise- my friend comes to my house with a road bike for me- he had found one- also used, a really nice Dancelli (which i dont know so much about- anyone here???)-it just looks super. I get on the bike and feel a bit awkward on it- it is so different from what im used too- i start cycling and i find myself in wonder why i cannot really bike it (!) it is so reactive and fast- almost aggressive. And the feeling of having to 'bend' down to hold the drop down handle bars is also strange to me..... but i want to ride it!!!! i want to enjoy the feeling of riding this beautiful road bike- please someone tell me that i just have to keep on trying and trying in order to control the bike- because at the moment i am a bit scared of it :-)

best wishes
and thanks a bunch

Welcome. And yes, road bikes do have that extra something.

There may be some adjustments you can make to the saddle and handlebar positions that may improve your comfort and confidence. It could just be a matter of spending time on the bike to get used to the quick handling. You could go ask at your local bike shop what thay think. They may want to sell you a new stem.
Sounds like you may have a very special bike.
Can you post some photos? People here get excited when they see closeups of the lugs, the tubing badge, along with a full bike shot.
