yea its a giant mcm carbon frame, the paint on the chain and seat stays is fairly badly rubbed off an chipped so i was thinking of sanding the whole lot down,

its the normal paint job no clear coat over the bogstandard paint job

sanding it down to bare metal sounds like a bad idea in your case. I'm still looking into this, I want to paint a stock carbon fork. My fork has clearcoat on it though, pretty sure you can rough that up and use regular primer.
