Lakewood Criterium

saw on a local racers blog that there will be a lakewood crit on may 17th put on by spin. This should be pretty fun! I'm sure there will be tons of spectators too, since everyone in that town walks/skateboards/bikes.

Dude, that's freaking awesome! I'll have to see what's up when I go there to pick up yet ANOTHER replacement dial for my BOA shoes.

It's a race conducted on a "closed course" with laps usually less than 1 mile in length. Race distance varies by catergory and will last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours with the newer riders riding the least amount of time. Riders will frequently chastise each other by saying things like "keep your line", "watch out", " hey WTF", and will even give free advice such as "get the F out of the way". Race intensity will go from a Sunday ride to turbo in a heartbeat, then slow back down only to go turbo and levels beyound. It is not uncommon to see visions of the Virgin Mary and/or old girlfriends above the next straight-a-way ahead.

You forgot "Slowing", "Stopping", "Car back", "Car up" and most of the times the guys trailing somewhere in the back yelling "Close that gap! Close that gap"

I should also say that the 35+ riders all attempt to make make a "new mathmetic equation" where all riders work to be near the front 1/3 of those racing, but not any closer to the front.

The thought of racing in downtown Lakewood seems like fun. However, I'll be racing that weekend here: https://www.montour75.com/Race_info..html

I had a few grunts 'n' words wityh Greg today and he didn't shine any light on the situation. He did, however, say that there was no bridge on the course.
