Best road shoe for wide feet
For running I have New Balances (882's) -- and right now I have some specialized but they are pretty narrow.
But I can't seem to find the proper road sho for someone who has wide feet and a high arch?
Someone said something about Sidi's but what model?

I tried Vittoria the other day and found them hugely wide, especially in the heel.

Sidi Mega, but you need to hit some different shops and try a bunch of shoes on.
You never know what's going to work til you try it.

I got a pair of Spiuk RC-1's last summer, and I am VERY pleased with the fit. They are not a very common shoe, but I really like them. The comfort for me, is a good compromise while still maintaining performance.
I have an E width, and the toe box is very generous. However, length-wise, I needed a slightly larger size. I usually take a 45-45.5, because I wear a size 11. They don't come in 1/2 sizes though. So, I went and got the Size 46, after the 45 was a smidgeon too short. The 46 fits my size 11E foot perfectly. I would say it could even comfortably fit up to a EE-EEE width, without much trouble. It's as if they intended this shoe to be for wider feet.
I think what they did to really add a benny, is they with two sets of insoles. One with lots of vent holes for summer, and another set one for winter.
If you want something differant, these are a good option. However, if you want the old reliable, then go for a pair of Sidi's. You can't go wrong with those.

I went from Sidi Mega's to the Shimano Wide shoes with a far roomier toe box and thermoformed goodness.

Same here. I'm about halfway between D (normal) and E width. Most brands were too narrow, but Sidi megas and any other E width shoe was too wide. Shimano fit me just right. I felt like Goldilocks and the Three Freakin' Bears.

Specialized carbone soled shoes seem to be a bit wider in the forefoot. The Sidi Megas were wider along the whole foot, but too big in the back for me.

I have the misfortune of having one foot that is a 9EE and another that is a 9.5E, so no matter what I do, one foot is always uncomfortable - usually its the short, fat foot.
Anyway, I tried Sidi, regular and megas. The regulars were too narrow and the megas were too wide.
I am now riding Specialized Pro Carbon shoes, which come in narrow, regular and wide widths. I have them in a 44 wide. They fit my 9.5E foot fine, but the short, fat foot, not so much.
After these, I'll probably try the Shimano wides.

Trying to find appropriate cycling shoes was a long ordeal for me and my 12 4E feet! However, Shimano wide series (47) without the insert and Sidi Megas (48) work for me. As an inexpensive alternative, the Forte wide (sold by Performance) in a 47 is the widest and most comfortable shoe I have found. However, I suspect it will not hold up as well as the Sidis for example. (Btw, a very thin sock is a must to get any of these shoes to work for me!)

What size do you wear? I'm selling some Shimano size 11.2 EE mtb shoes, carbon soles. Probably as stiff as most road shoes.
Otherwise, you can check out Lake's shoes, esp the CX190 road shoe or any of their road shoes.

the only arch you get in sidi is created by the $0.05 worth of material from the insole.
no matter what shoe you get, i highly recommend immediately switching out the insole to SuperFeet...best $40 you can spend...plus if you dont like em, return em..even after cutting them up.
