And a hello from me
Hi!
I'm James, 24, from Bristol, UK. I study illustration and create children's picture books. I'm recently mad about cycling - I needed something to get me away from being hunched over my desk for hours on end! I currently own a pretty crude fixie, but it's got a bit scary too often, and it doesn't help my posture. So, on Monday I'm receiving a beautiful dutch single speed that's the brightest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait!!!
I look forward to posting and meeting you all

Hello James!
We'll need photos of your new bike when you get it. Say, have you any links to some of your artwork?

Thankyou,
I'm not sure where I'm going to post photos of my bike. It's a little unusual but not THAT weird, and I'm using it to commute on, but only a short distance...too many options!!!
My website is in the works, you can have a sneaky peek at my (award winning, haha) first picture book here: https://outsidetownpress.blogspot.com

You can either post it here, or perhaps in the Utility Cycling forum?
Nice, you have your own publishing company (and the book looks quite darling
)!

I lived in Clifton 50 yrs ago. There are too many steep hills in Bristol and around for a single speed. I used to ride my 3 sp over the Mendips to go caving around Priddy.

I find it fine, my route to uni is all flat, the one to the supermarket is the same, and the only really long cycles i do are to Bath, which is again really flat. It's fine on my fixie, and I move to London soon anyway.
