Dwars Door Vlaanderen '09

translated "Across Flanders"

Many of the big "cobbled" stars will be honing the form. Past two winners are present, Chavanel and Boonen. No race is too small when it is Classics season! This weekend will be the GP E3 and Brabantse Pijl, but I'll save those semi's for another thread.

Edit: MSR SPOILER Alert - don't scroll down.

Boonen's gotta be pissed about his ride at MSR, and at Cav's comments. Plus he'll have a killer team. I'll go way out on a limb and pick Tommeke to win.

Spoiler alert for MSR? Sorry for that - it has been 4 days since the race, I thought we were past the statute of limitations.

MSR is already history.
Time to head back north.

VDB is starting. Cinelli will get more exposure from his starting, than the whole team will give them all year.

I'm going to keep picking Heinrich Haussler, just cause I like the alliteration. Plus, he doesn't have to worry about Hushovd leadouts gone wrong.

I hope it pisses down rain and blows a gale in every single Belgian classic and semi-classic this year, except for Liege-Bastogne-Liege. I hope it snows for that one. Global warming stuffs up the Belgian classics IMO.

I also hope the weather for the Ronde is as bad as it was for the 1985 epic when Vanderaerden won. I'm also praying to baby jesus that Paris-Roubaix is muddy.

Rabo could learn a thing or two from QS.

No need to pick on Rabo.
Looks to me as though QS made all the teams look foolish.
Even though they bought the race from Nico..
