Is the new Camelbak Omega reservoir better than the old style? I have a chance to pick up an 03 model of the hydrobak at a pretty good savings. Is the wide opening worth it on the new ones or does it matter? I have seen several people trash the Omega @ mtbreview.com. Many say the old reservoir is better. Any opinions?

ANy other thoughts? Sternum strap? Y/N?

A small pack suits my needs best.

I've not used the old style resevoir, but I have no problems with the new style. The wide mouth makes it easy to dump ice cubes into the bag. Otherwise, what's not to like? Ive had no leaks.

Sternum strap is a good thing.
