DIY Bar Ends Anyone?
I was looking for some bar ends for my Soma 456 track drops but couldn't really find anything suitable fr the price.. Didn't go with metal bar ends because it defeats the purpose besides filling up the hallow part. Only found one cork in my apartment so no go on that idea. I ended up using some water bottle caps and electrical tape for now. Anyone have better ideas?

Metal bar PLUGS do not defeat the purpose. The purpose of bar plugs is to prevent you from donating a core sample to the road when you crash. Metal bar plugs do this exact function.

Dude, it's not like they're expensive or anything. One of mine fell out somewhere and my LBS gave me a replacement for free.

I mentioned that metal ones fill up the hallow end to prevent skin samples but they seem more suitable for straight bars in which protect the bars themselves also.If the plugs could be made from with everyday items, why the hell not? Save myself a couple bucks for something else.

buy another bottle of wine and use the other cork.
i use them on two of my bikes, looks pimp with cloth tape and does a fantastic job of keeping my body scrape free.

Haha, it was simply a mistake on the typo. I was not aware this forum was full of Literature majors who feel they are responsible for enforcing spelling errors with their shiny badges. Perhaps you should correct those who did not correct capitalize their first letters of the word in the beginning sentence?
I mean it would seem reasonable to correct someone if they were using heavy slang; ie: "skwel," "sumthing," "2day," "werd," or even the most commonly "break" instead of the correct term 'brake'. Seems unnecessary to correct someone and tell them to read a book for a lousy one word mistake due to a typo. I honestly think some of you have your pant legs rolled up TOO high going up your ass. "High five!"

Ive seen beer bottle caps used around the outside of the tape and bar.

i have always believed that one of the big differences between something OK, and something truly excellent lies in the details.
