Had an awesome weekend tour with Mrs neilfein - with pics

Martha and I rode the East Coast Greenway last weekend from Trenton up to Highland Park. This was her first time on a bike tour of any sort. Yes, it was very short, yes we didn't camp, but my wife came on a bike tour with me! This is awesomely cool.

The whole thing was less than 50 miles over two days. We took the train to Trenton, and rode home, stopping for the night in Princeton. I kept it short and simple - stick to the greenway, low mileage - to keep the whole thing unintimidating.

Martha has only recently gotten into cycling. I introduced her to camping last summer, and she surprised herself by loving it. Now this! She hit her mileage-in-a-day record on the second day. The full journal - and more pictures - is up on crazyguy.

Saturday morning! Martha in front of our bikes. We're waiting for our train in New Brunswick station.

Martha getting up a head of steam! A few miles north of Trenton.

Martha and I in our room in Princeton before leaving on Sunday morning.

Enjoying the view across the Millstone River. Plainsboro Township is across the water, and Martha is exuberantly facing Princeton/ Hamilton Township.

The East Coast Greenway's off-road portion ends in Highland Park, when it intersects Route 27. This intersection is less than a mile from our house.

a quickr pickr post

Well played. You're a smart man setting Martha up for success. That towpath looks like nice place for a ride.

Congrats on not being "one of those guys". Like all truly smart men, you figured out how to get a woman into your activities - by doing it on her terms.

Looks like a great trip, and with all the snow in my neck of the woods - I'm crazy jealous that you were out riding.

Awesome job on getting the wife out and about Neil! I'm going to take a page from your playbook and use it to get the Mrs. interested in biking and camping.

Nice pics.

I'm thinking Cheesequake State Park for the next one. A camping tour, definitely - and I'd love to give my trailer a proper shakedown.
