possible Gitane?

I tried to I.D. it on my own but
I need some help.

Here is what is known.
Bike was purchased in Late 70's
Bike was painted (poorly) and previous owner didn't recall
the make of the bike.

parts/frame:
Tange Champion No.2 chrome fork
BCM-Bocama Lugs
rear chrome stays w/ red pinstripe marks where it meets the paint
NO serial #
A 73 and 60 stamped into the left side of the head tube- refers to geometry.
Brooks Professional Saddle
Suntour seat post
Shimano Dura Ace brakes
Campagnolo cranks/pedals/clips
Suntour Cyclone derailleurs
700c Rigida Rims to unknown hubs
Suntour Stem and bars.

No serial # and no holes underneath the paint on headtube
made me think it might be a gitane.
Are the top of the seat stays , where the stays meet the top of the seat tube ,flat or does it make a v shape on a Gitane?
They are V shaped on this bike.
Pics are in a FLICKR set.

The decal on the seat tube is from the bike shop it was bought from back in the 70's
It has Dan the village pedaler/River Falls WI and an obsolete phone #
It also has Raleigh written on top but from what I have seen in my searching online
is that it does'nt match up with a Raleigh.

Your help would be much appreciated.

the bike will most likely get some new paint/ tires and cables
once I figure what kind of creature it is.

Interesting. What is the treads for the BB and headset? Dropouts marking? Probably a replacement fork. The top of the seat stays look like my early Moto GR.

It could be French, but from what I can see it don't say "Gitane" to me...yet...better detail pics of the seat cluster , BB shell, and rear DOs will help. What SIZE is the seat post and can you confirm the THREADING of the BB?
