Snake Alley 'Hell-terium'
Siting here next to the Mississippi in Burlington, Iowa. Awesome weather right now, sunny, 75 deg. Earlier it was sunny and HOT! Ugh! Then the thunderstorms rolled in and it rained ... right on cue for the 3's race!
Back in a bit as soon as pics finish uploading ...

Here's where I'm parked, watching this 500hp speed boat doing laps in the river. Sounds like NASCAR !
In the Masters race, Dewey Dickey defended his title from last year:
THen there is the "Cobble Climb" which is basically an alley at 12 to 14% with bread loaf cobbles. One guy did it on a road bike!
Adam Bergman (Texas Roadhouse) takes the PRO 1/2
(BTW, that's a snake in his hand. He tried to give it back, but they made him keep it)
Amanda Miller won the Elite Women's race:
So, the big races have started, summer has begun!
More racing down here tomorrow and Monday, but I'm heading home.
Chow.

who won the 3's? what about 123?
I wanted to go but couldn't find anywhere to stay. I ended up doing a wisport race with a bunch of beans guys. Loberg won and we had 4 (all) in the top 7. Then we did another ~30 miles in the bluemounds area.

3's - Sam Stone led the thing from the git go until the last lap - he was caught on the downhill by two guys. Because of the lapped traffic, the announcer totally missed it - the winner raised his arms in a great Post Up, but we all were thinking ... "Who's this joker??" (so I erased the picture). Then, later, they figured out what happened. I was not pleased. But I missed most of the 3's race anyway ... had to ... well, take a wizz.
I've got a few more pix up on PPix.Com.
Time to tank up with gas at $2.29 / gal !! and head home.

A teammate of mine won the 3's race, and he was able to catch up to Sam on the 2nd to last lap on the climb. When I get home tomorrow I will see if the pictures I got of him at the line were any good.
