Need advice - My first restoration.

I just picked up a new Schwinn Supersport, based on the serial number, it is a '72. The frame is a little banged up, but not too bad, and it has some rust spots. I have never restored a frame or a bike for that matter and am just looking for some advice on what to use (sandpaper grit, paint types, chemicals, etc.) and what to do to start out and get runnin' with my restoration.

Sorry, some of the pics are blurry, but that is what you get with a kinda crappy camera. There is a small dent on the right side of the frame that I didn't have a good picture of. I would like some advice, I really want to pick up and run with this rebuild.
