Easton EC70 sl Wheelset love (or hate)?
[Sorry about a double post...no replies since I first posted this morning in Road Cycling, so, I'll see if I might get some helpful replies here

I'm seriously looking to buy a set of semi-aero clincher wheels for crits and the occasional road race -- 38s seem like they would be right for me; and it would be nice if I could use them for training too. (I currently have Ksyrium SL, which came with my System Six, and they seem fine to me, but, so many people have been telling me that I would be much much happier with something at least semi-aero.)
I've seen a fair bit of discussion about Williams 38 ($999 list, 1596g, etc.) and lots of good things said there. In addition, I've seen lots of good things said about Soul 4.0s ($425 shipped, 1680g). I can get the Easton EC70 sl new for about $750 (yes, it is a deal for them. list is $1250 or so I believe) and their reported weight is 1695g. I have not seen much on BF or elsewhere about the EC70 sl, although, what I have read tends to be very positive.
Any folks with experience using the EC70 sl? Any thoughts or guidance? Thank you!

Thanks again for your input ridethecliche and fatallightening...I went with the Easton EC70 SLs for $790 shipped...at some point I'll provide a report or two...went for these because they appear to be reasonably versatile as 38s which are strong enough for training and for racing in crits and some road races...as I progress further in my cycling, maybe deeper dish and some lighter SLs than the Ksyrium will be on the horizon...

Yes. I'm resurrecting this year old thread (probably hijacking it at this point). Looking for opinions on the EC70 SL wheels from the OP or others who have ridden these (or for a specific reason, do not ride these). In keeping with the thread, was also looking into the Soul 4.0 and Williams 38c. For rolling RR.

Funny you should post now as I have been thinking about my Easton EC70 SLs. Several comments:
1) I love the feel of them.
2) I went down and the front wheel was cooked; Easton gave me what I think of as a really good deal in replacing the rim and rebuilding the wheel.
3) Recently, a spoke broke for the first time (rear), and a spoke loosened on the front. These are somewhat minor to repair, but, I will likely send back to Easton because I haven't heard of anyone in the Boston area that folks have a lot of confidence in with respect to wheels (and I am likely to screw it up). Perhaps I'm not talking to the right people.
I'm back on the Ksyrium SLs for now, which seem to be tough as nails (knock on wood).
And, I'm thinking about 50s from Psimet. You might also think about his wheels as much good stuff has been reported in BF about this BF member.
