Hi,

I'm registered for 45+ and may do the 50+. 45+ is the target race for our Masters team since only two of us are over 50.

Just got back. Well this was a good experience for me - first time I've done one of these State champ events. The 30+ and 35+ were good clean races, I didn't see anything close to sketchy riding. Challenged for the first 30+ prime but came up 1 bike length short. Surprisingly, this burned too many matches and I had to recovery the rest of the race; in fact I went off the back with 1 to go. Oh well.

I had about 2 minutes to cut my number off and get in line for the 35+ race. My legs came back quickly and I hung on the whole race, finishing towards the back, but at least not dead last!

With a little more specific training, I'll do much better next year. It was only a 27.2 MPH average in the 35+.

Hi,

Interesting. The 45+ race was 27.4 MPH. Not much of a difference. The race started out slower than I expected but obviously ramped up pretty well. It was fast enough that Thurlow couldn't get away and he tried.
