i love the Internet
I like the pesky critters as long as they don't rip my hands and arms to shreds after asking for a scratch, in which case they instantly transform into futballs/footballs.
Squirrels have run into my wheels and bounced off. One of them missed the wheel and I rolled over it. I looked back and it was writhing and squirming. Broken back I suppose. If possible, I aim for them directly and make a loud noise and they get out of the way...at the last moment of course.
Now, to get back on topic, I'll be watching 2 races today (Ronde van België and Ronde van Italië) and, oh yeah, working. This'll be a first.

So what happened to McEwen?
Saw him get off his bike with what looked like a cramp, but then saw some nasty thing coming out his knee.
Maybe a bystander with a sign (ala Hushovd).

according to sporza, he hit a bollard, and tore ligaments below the knee (i believe it was an open wound).
it wasn't looking good when he couldn't clip out of his pedal.

Has coddling tendencies.
Anyone big in this race that I'll be seeing at the TdF? I'm too busy to do any research on my own, which is why I'm aksing.

Genetics have failed me
I guess the cat was already run over 8 times before. Must have hurt every single time.
