Sometime last week I passed my monthly goal of 400 miles and decided to go for 500. Today's 31-miler put me at 505 for May. That's the most since I started keeping records, and except for a tour in 1993 I'm sure it's the most in one month ever. Most of my rides have been 27-35 miles, enough to work up a sweat but not so much to be really tired when I get home. I try to alternate gently rolling and hillier routes. For the year I'm up to 1411 mi, with an average rolling speed > 16.5.
It feels good, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm obsessed. Is this an excuse to put off work I should be doing? Can I keep riding when the air temperature climbs above 70°F?

Mark, living in AZ, I have ridden regularly in 100+ degrees.
Are you obsessed? Hardly!
Am 76 years old and ride 100+ miles a week. Can hardly wait til I get older!
