Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? wheelset question

I'm thinking about ordering the cxp22
and I wanted to know what are the best spokes/nipple options.

I've heard good things about the Mavics Open pro and Cxp33
but do you think I should order one of those instead?
How are they different from each other?

My frame is alright I guess; I have a Pake so maybe I shoudl jsut stick with the cxp22.

Thanks. sorry if this topic has come up too many times

this is your first build youll prolly be just fine w/ cxp22. If you have tons of extra $, go w/ the cxp33 or open pro, but you aren't going to be able to tell much of a difference.

Thanks PedallingATX.

Radatad - I've seen those wheels before. Do you knwo what hubs they are?
I think I'm ust going to stick with the cxp22 - i hear really good things about them
I don't think i'll need anything fancy if I'm just going to get a fixed for street.

also, are brass nipples really better than alloy and what spokes should I get? Is stainless or DT comp better? 1.8/1.6 or 2.0/1.8? what's the difference?
I don't want to make a mistake on an order.

AFAIK, brass nipples are better than alloy and, strength wise, stainless is better than comp.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm tryin to learn too

They're nothing special. There are better rims for cheaper out there.
