It's difficult and sometimes you may be able to twist them off by hand but I've usually resorted to backing off the tension and then prying the jaws open with a screwdriver.

You take a small flatblade screwdriver and wiggle it into one of the clamping jaws and slowly pry it out.
It helps to turn the screwdriver blade a bit as you pop it out...
