Another Motobecane dating question
Hello,
I know I've read a million or so posts regarding dating the older, somewhat cheaper Motobecanes. I have rebuilt several older Schwinn and other cheap bikes and absolutely love them. What I've run into is a head badge that I've never seen before. It's plastic, square pointed at the botom, Motobecane france raised inside. If anyone has an idea of what year this is, please let me know. I'm thinking mid to late 70's, but then I've got a 78 with a brass button????
Thanks a million

'74 catalog shows the round badge (and I have a '75 with same) so I'd guess '73 or prior for that style. Don't have access to scans of the earlier catalogs, so it's hard to pinpoint.

Seconding earlier 70's. From what I understand, the headbadge order is sticker, raised shield (what you have), circular (to celebrate the 50th anniversary), then to a plastic rectangle.
