Technium 420 need cotterless Axle

I need a new axle for my Raleigh Technium 420. I went to a local bike shop and they told me that the mail order company they use do not have it in stock. They will check in a month or two but in the mean time they gave me this information. Nut style cotterless BB axle (spindle 3ss) does anyone know of a site that might have the part or do I need to start seaching for a used part?

Thanks
Steve

Sound like you need to try another LBS that deals with older bikes..

you need anew LBS period! most bike shops deal with more than one supplier. you need a square spindle that matches your cranks. you can use either a BB that has seperate axle and cups or a cartridge style both can be nutted or use bolts to hold your cranks.

chances are the 'mechanics' at that shop can only replace a shiman part 3726 that is broke with a new part 3726. I had seen a number of guys do that at a place I worked. if someone asked for something we did not have on the shelf they had no clue what would work to help the customer.
