HI,
I jumped on Ebay for a pair of those Falconi Bibs, they are the best fitting and have the best pad,
super comfort and seem to protect the Boys from that Chaffing that can occur from the pad rolling up on the seat.
The pad it self almost feels like it has a pound of the Butt butter on it already, I will not need to buy that stuff any more.
Do yourself a favor and try a pair. today they cost about 1/5 of the price of a good Bib at my LBS.

How are the posted sizings? In other words, is size 40 really a size 40 or would you recommend going up (or down) a size?

Hi,
the chart reccomended a 2XL for me I have 40 waist and it very good fit on me, another point is the BIBS really make you look slimmer, when you wear those shorts they push all the handles up and this makes a nice Jelly Roll, where the BIBS tend to slim you down nicely.
Hope I didn't offend anyone cause I weigh 240 and I am coming down from 260.
The sizes are very true and the pads are actually alittle larger than the same size in a more expensive pant like the ones that have that scorpion on them or those higher cost ones I bought at Specialized. my other shorts would roll along the seams and chaf the boys and this style pad stays put and really seems to soften the pressure points almost like there's nitrogen bubbles trapped in the pad similar to my old running shoes. My Suggo's pad tended to flaten out on a long ride and you can really feel those pressure points start to burn.
I feel like I can go farther longer without feeling alot of pain in the undercarrige I find I can focus more on cadance and maintaining pace without standing up every 5 mins..
for that price you can afford to give them a shot.

Yes! I now use my Falconi Deluxe bibs exclusively. My $100/pair Pearl Izumi Slice shorts have been gathering dust since I started wearing bibs. YMMV, of course.

Not sure about the other Bibs, the Flaconi is the one I purchased and reviewed
I have a 3 x jersey I ordered 6 mos ago and its holding up better than my other three, and it seems to have a more reelaxed fit like it wasn't made for a heavy skinny guy.
Many of the european 2x and 3x are really smaller than the American sizes.
So follow his chart and remember if it don't fit e-mail him and he will exchange them at least he has in the past. try that any where else.

Comfort, fit and durability---no difference that I can tell. I have worn both styles on 4+ hour rides. Your results may vary of course.

The deluxe bib uses flat lock stitching which looks better, lies a little flatter against the skin and comes in a variety of thread colors, which look better-it costs a bit more to produce shorts with this stitching. The mesh on the deluxe bib looks to be of higher quality too.

The gray Coolmax pad on the bib and deluxe bib is the same, but we are also selling a previous version of the deluxe bib that uses a slightly thinner pad too. The nicer pad is the gray Coolmax pad. The older style pad is blue and yellow. The listings all picture the pad in the bibs so I advise getting the bibs with the gray pad.

Sorry, no tri shorts are planned.

For me the Falconis are better than my Sugois, even after a double century. The only "downside" is, that they look cheaper and that the fabric feels cheaper, more plasticky (the sugoi stuff has some heavenly haptics). My feel for the fabric texture disappears after the first minute or two of wearing them, though. Since they are soo much cheaper, it is all fine.

I have Falconis with the "old" blue pad, however.

Thanks for the detailed description of the bib types. I have a what I perceive to be a really lame question: what do you wear under the bibs, top and/or bottom? Just birthday suit?

Birthday suit in the summer. As with all cycling shorts, you don't want to wear anything under the bibs on the bottom. Ever.

In the fall and winter, I wear a Craft Windstopper T-shirt under the bibs, and possibly tights or a jacket over the top. Some people wear a light-weight wicking T-shirt under the bibs in summer, but I've never found it to be necessary. I throw my Primal Wear jersey over the top of the bibs and I'm fine.

Around here in the summer (Kansas City) it is so humid that those thin baselayers under a jersey just make you hotter. Maybe in Colorado or drier areas they work.

Talk about good service! I ordered a pair of the deluxe bibs on Wednesday after I read this post. They arrived in the mail today, two days later! Great shipping. I rode 37 miles this morning in the new bibs. They fit nicely and didn't look too cheap. We had a headwind for about the first 2/3 of the ride and I was sitting and pedaling a lot more than normal. My rear end was feeling the saddle and I was a little discouraged with the padding. By the end of the ride, I was feeling fine. I think the padding is a little thinner than my other shorts and just took a little getting used to. Overall, I'm very pleased with the bibs. For the price, they seem to be a very good deal. We'll see how they hold up. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair. Enjoy!

Also, some of us with loose skin wear a compression shirt under our jerseys to help keep everything tucked in.

HI,
I still love my bibs, I finally took the time to read over the desciption of the Double Pads, now it makes sense why they are so comfortable.
I ve put over 100 mile on mine this week and they are keeping me pain free.
