Looking for first 'bent in socal.
I have been looking into get a bent so I can start riding after a 2 year layoff. A car accident left me with injuries that prevent me from riding my DF bike, and I love riding, so it looks like a recumbent is going to be the answer to my riding needs.
I am currently 6'4" and 290lbs (and losing). When I was riding my DF, I had gotten to where I could comfortably ride a metric century with plans of attempting my first century. I would like to keep at my goals.
I live down in Huntington Beach. Any help on where I can find a shop or two so I can test ride would be greatly appreciated.
Any tips or advice would also be helpful.
Thanks!
Jon

A trip up to Van Nuys to see Bentupcycles is definitely in order. Dana can advise you on what can handle your weight, and give test rides.

Very nice people. Have not bought a bike from them but have shopped there with my wife. They spent a lot of time - rode several bents - will be back.

Have not been there yet.
Good luck. I would love to hear what you think about these stores.
