Old bike, new front derailuer

I have an older roqad bike (1" tubes) and new (or nearly new) Ultegra front derailuers with 31.8mm clamps. Do they make a smaller one or do I need some sort of shim thingy??

They should have come with a selection of clamps in 28.6mm, 31.8mm, and 34.6mm (?). Ask where you got it about this - or your local shop likely has them.

I love those steel-frame bikes!
