I was on my bicycle today and i near got hit due to of some careless and idiot parent didnt watch one of there kids and this is what happen
i have it on 1 gear and is was a smooth tops road so i was approaching a small incline of a hill so i switch from 1 gear to 2 gear and on both side there was park cars on both side of the street so i approaching a street that i want to turn off on my left but is for another 2 block so as i was riding getting where i want to turn a kids chasing a ball between the park cars and i saw this and i slam both of my break and swear to avoid them but what happen behind me a car was about 25 feet and as he saw me slamming my break and swearing he have to avoid me so he wont his me but add insult to what happen the parent " Mexican " staring to cursing me for no reason and accusing me for near running there kids over " uh hello " is the other was around and as i was fighting them the driver " the one near hit me " want to know what happen and i explain what happen and is get odder
after we " me and the driver " talk a little and as we departed the cops show up and the accusation came flying from these people and this is the best part that where the incline " where the smooth road hit a slope " they told the officer i was speed and that i near hit there kids and as they was taking another officer talk to me and the driver and i show the officer where the skid mark from my tires made is and that where the kids came darting out and how i swerve to avoid the kids the driver tell the exact
same version and there were witness and they said the same thing
some of the witness even told the officer that mother and father get drunk and leave there older in charge to watch there brother and sister while they stay inside
and the officer came back and told me and the driver were free to go and i ask what going to happen next well the parent got both got hand cuff and arrested for being under influence of alcohols and child endangerment and the father have a warrant for DUI
so cyclist be careful out there

Kids, bouncing balls, parked cars, putting them together makes for a combination that I was taught to watch out for way back in driver's ed class.
Being careful is something not lost to many here on BF.

Scary story. Glad the cops sorted it out for you and the driver.
However, learn to use some punctuation and grammar. Holy Cow, that second paragraph is just hell to read!

That Kentmadness doesn't like Hispanic people, was the only thing I gleaned from this rant.

Take few commas as well, no really, I insist > ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Use them in your next post, ok?
P.S. I'm glad your epic saga turned out well for all concerned.

Ever read Ulysses? In my edition, the final chapter starts on page 871 and finishes on page 933. In all those pages, there's one period, and it's right at the end. So was Joyce a genius, or was his typewriter shot after writing such an epic? The original post is very much in the "stream of consciousness" mould, wouldn't you say?

People who post without making any effort to use proper spelling and punctuation are being rude to their readers.

It could be they are doing the best they can. All of us have different education levels and computer skills, but we do have one thing in common, we enjoy cycling. So if someone's grammar isn't perfect, cut him some slack, there's more important things in life to worry about.

Extremely high literacy is a privilege, not a criterion for the respect of others.
My partner struggles with literacy due to a learning disability. He's terrified of people not taking him seriously if he misspells a word. It's all well and good to pick apart writing if you're a book editor, but it's humiliating to be on the receiving end of that criticism when it's not asked for or necessary.
ETA: I am not implying anything about the OP or his/her abilities.

It would be unfortunate if the original poster had such issues. Spelling is a problem that is fairly easy to fix with a spell-checker.

Back to the original post, those kids should be playing in the street, not on the side. If they were in the street, they would be seen and not be suddenly appearing from between cars. The streets are public, not just for cars and people moving fast.

Maybe, making posts about "Mexicans" isn't the way to be welcomed.
================
If they are able to, people should use standard English grammer and punctuation (and spelling). No one cares about a few errors but a apparent whole-scale disregard of these things isn't likely to earn a great deal of respect.
