Bicycle Repair Man !!!
UAV V 2.0
Drive side... top gear.
My beloved old Trek 7500 has moved on to living with a very nice young lady who is loving the bike and the Moulden is picking up the slack.
It is lighter, a bit faster, and I prefer the extra reach it has.

Hey, Man, Nice bar ends! What are they and how'd you put 'em on?

March 29th I brought home a Cannondale Quick 5, seemed like the best answer within my budget. My old road bike was too hairy on the cindered local rail trails. And so far, having put over 260 miles on it (23 this very morning), I'm quite happy. I did have the OEM pedals switched out to alloy sealed bearing units before it even left the shop. The shopping list still includes a rear rack for a trunk bag I already own.
Resting at the turn-around point on this morning's ride, this is along the Schuylkill River Trail near Oaks, PA.
Close-up of the "dashboard". Will probably be tinkering with bars, grips and bar ends until I'm too decrepit to ride it anymore.

They are Ergon GC3's. As you know, the Roam comes with nice grips but I got annoyed with them slipping/twisting on the handlebar. So I was looking for bar ends anyway and decided to get the Ergons because they have fantastic bar ends and the grips clamp to the bar and do not rotate at all. Great fix, and I got them for a good price at my LBS (link - $42.99).

What are those fenders? Do we call all fenders without stays "clip-on?" Is there such a pair that's affordable, durable, and completely secure? I gave a pair of VO fenders my most concerted installation effort. They seemed to fit uniformly and looked gorgeous but always clanged, even on small bumps. Between that annoyance and the added weight, I wound up yanking them. I miss the look but if I try fenders again, I'm going for utility over aesthetic. Thanks

The rear is attached to the rack and is stabilized with a couple of zip ties and I can remove the fenders and rack in a couple of minutes if I want to.
The bike weighs about 24 pounds with the rack and fenders and without them curbs out at about 22 pounds... have not weighed the bike since I swapped the crank so might have to do that... the old carbon crank was a little lighter.
A good set of fenders that have been installed properly should not be noisy and even clip on models should be fairly stable.

I am not going to buy anything else for this bike. No more changes, no more tinkering.

"How many times have I heard that before" your abstinence only lasted a couple seconds
It never ends, white cables will lead to white dot syndrome. But after all you can never have to many dots can you.

My kid being very safe next to our bikes:
My new TT bike being very safe from my kid:
The garage floor and walls are done and the new bike was also finally finished and so first thing I did was make a high and dry safe spot for the bike.
I don't trust my kid with all that nice carbon

hey giantcfr1, where do you get those reflective red stickers?
And just a thought, what would happen if you stabbed a carbon bike with a steel knife? Just a random thought that popped into my head... I know, I'm screwed up...
