GMR, GRR, Baldy weather in November?

I'm thinking that the weather is still good for a ride up Baldy through November. Other than a windy Santa Anna pattern, I can't imagine it's too cold up there just yet. Those of you who ride up there a lot, what can I expect?

Too early to tell.. Normally they do not get snow that early but if it rains the descent can be a little perilous..

Hmmm, if my memo serves me right, the snow and stuff dont sart till after Christmas. I've ridden up there Christmas Day and the day after and no white stuff.

Matter of fact, we did the Bloat ride a few years ago, right after Thanksgiving and the weather was perfect, no white stuff!

November is usually no problem, and in fact pretty nice weather on the Moutain. Jan. / Feb. / March can still be on the cool side, but no problem if you dress for it.

There is one little place where a stream runs across the roadway, which can (and does) freeze. Thankfully, it's so short that even if you lose traction, you get it back on the dry pavement before you can fall . . . at least that's my experience.

Your more likely to encounter hi winds on the ridge lines, or across revines, than you are rain or snow.

Last time I spotted a patch of snow on GRR, it was a HOT sunny day in late May!

Rained last year on Thanksgiving Day, with snow on top of Mt. Baldy (but none on the road). But like others said, it's too early to tell. A couple of years, it hardly rained at all in January, so you can never tell.

Don't let a little weather keep you from going up there as long as it's not pouring.

It's unpredictable, however we're expecting an El Nino winter this year, which increases the likelihood of rain/snow.

Yeah well weather people know nothing. This summer was supposed to be one of the hottest on record and it's been about 10 degrees below normal so far... I subscribe to the it's too early to tell theory.

Those are gorgeous pics, especially the first one. What time of year was that taken?

Last day of March and STILL snow on the moutnain. Cool but not cold.

GrrlyRida trying to hold a straightline. This was before she had her back wheel straightened out!

Same day, Gina headed for the snow. She didn't make it but hey, she tries!

Same day, Grrly and Gina blowing by me on the descent

Pictures were taken by, OH DAM, I took them!
Unpredictable. Nice at the botom but threat of rain at the shack. This was in June. Has nothing to do with November but I just like posting pictures!

Jacket going into the second week of June! TomBunn hammered up GMR with us!

TommBunn and I in a sprint finish for the shack. Dude edged me out by .07 of a second!

The pics are great! Looks like Grrly is trying to get out of the way of the fast approaching train.

Love those mountain pics BigJohn.
