Athena reels in the skinny group... Almost

As Phil Ligget would say, The Athena is attacking with anger in her eye to bridge the gap.

This morning's ride was an awesome jaunt down to the beach from a business park next to Angel stadium along the SART. The ride down we took it easy and just cruised along. Met a group from the Inland Empire at the beach and had a cool chat. Things got interesting on the way back.

I led out the run back to Angel Stadium with the wife enjoying the pace of 16 mph. about two miles along a group of 3 then 2 more passed us doing 19-20. Imagine my surprise when Jen comes burning around me and i have to grab a couple of more gears to keep up with her. For the next two miles we slowly reeled them back with her on the front me frantically trying to sit on. It was finaly a climb too many that cracked her and we slowed back to our normal 15-16 mph pace.

What was fun for me was to see her get so agro and attack this group.. dunno what sparked it, but when it was all over, even though we didn't catch the group she was still grinning from ear to ear.

Great, now I have Phil's voice stuck in my head

Amazing what having a rabbit in front of you can do. I think everyone has a competitive side, it just varies in degree from person to person. It sounds like your Jen had her's feeling perky today. How cool is that?
