Saddle position slips back and forth in seatpost

Saddle position slips back and forth in seatpost
I was just handed a used Easton EC70 seatpost, and due to its offset I have to have my saddle positioned fully forward, and just after a little riding, it seems like the clamp loses its grip, and my saddle slips backwards. Is there anything I can do to bring this seatpost back to a fully functioning state?

You may have installed the saddle so far forward that the rails are no longer parallel and the seatpost clamp isn't gripping them evenly. Try setting the saddle all the way forward, then moving it back, say 1/4" or so, and see if it stays tight then.
It really sounds like you need a no-setback seatpost and there are several models available. The Thompson is one of the best but pricey.

While a Thomson seatpost is ideal - and I have one on my racer - on my hybrid I have a Ritchey Comp. Road seatpost. This is a very nice seatpost that is a good amount less expensive than the Thomson. Both are doing right by me.

The last time someone posted regarding this problem a posted photo showed that the seatpost top clamp piece was warped so that it would not grip the rails properly. Not an Easton however.
With the saddle removed tighten the clamp fully, but gently, and see if there are visible gaps between the clamp top and bottom sections that moght indicate something is bent.
