Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping that I will be able to find some answers. The reason I joined was because I found a VERY old thread concerning a problem that I am currently exploring solutions for. I commute to school and back every day, five times a week. I've recently discovered a need/preference to ride in a lower profile position as I frequently am going against the wind (often both ways, as it switches in the afternoon...). The thread in question was started by a user looking for handlebar ends which allow the rider to assume the "drop" or "ergo" riding position, most commonly achieved using a regular "drop" bar. He and some other users were talking about a company called NewK which had an interesting combination bar end that had both "bull horn" and "drop" styles incorporated into the design. I am not interested in the bull horn part, but I was looking at finding a similar set up for my ride and having difficulty. One local bike shop owner was amazed that I was looking because as he said "I've been dreaming of such a product for a very long time". I managed to find a company called Origin8 which produces a product called "Origin8 Pro-pulsion Road Ends - Drop Bar Bar Ends". The URL will be posted below. The only problem is that I don't live in the States, and there does not appear to be a Canadian company which retails the product. I was curious as to whether anyone has seen or used such bar ends, or if there is an updated post about this somewhere else on the forum that someone could direct me to. I'd like to avoid switching my bar out completely and although I'm not opposed to the idea, it poses some obstacles when factoring in braking and shifting needs. As I mentioned, I'm a student and when it comes to money, I like to be frugal when possible... Which means that STI/Campy Ergo "brifters" are most likely out of the question, nevermind the new cassette I would need in order to use them. as far as I can see, the Shimano STI shifters come only in 8, 9, or 10 spd applications.

Have you checked Chain Reaction Cycles . com? They carry a lot of Origin8 stuff.

No, but I took a look for both .ca and .com versions. The .com version is a UK company, and at the moment, the .ca website does not have product listings.
