Does this look good? (craigslist)
"
A fast, light, fun trail bike. Set up as a single speed. Love this bike, but with a new member of the family I need to thin out the herd. size M/L 5'7" to 5'9"
frame: 1999 Specialized S works M4
wheels: Roff
tires: Kenda Karma Pro
fork: Winwood carbon disc
handlebar: Answer Protaper carbon
front brake: Hayes El Camino disc
rear brake: Shimano XTR
stem: Bontrager race X lite
seatpost: Ritchy
saddle: WTB
crankset: Specialized Strong arm II
extras: Surly singlator, Salsa QR's (red), gearing is 36x15t, perfect for wilderness park
I've had the frame for a while, but as it is with above parts, it's only been on a few rides.
$400 firm, the fork alone cost that much.
"
I'm looking for a bike to ride around campus and for recreation and occasional trail use. I'm going to set up a meeting this weekend to look at it.. what do you guys think?

Sounds good enough. My concern would be that it's a 10 year old aluminum frame, and though he says it's only been on a few rides, you ought to give it a good once-over to make sure it's in good shape. Not dents or cracks in any of the joints, etc....
That said, get and post some pics. Lots of things sound good on paper.
While you're there, teach the guy how to post a picture.

I was fooled by the picture... I guess the owner just took off the shifters to make it "SS." Sorta lame but it's a decent bike

Let me get this straight: you posted about a SS bike, but there were no pictures available. A bunch of us say --- quite hospitably after your snarky "YOU VISUAL LEARNERS" comment --- get and post some pics and that'll help us judge.
Later you post pics of *a completely different bike* with no description. Was this a special treat for the VISUAL LEARNERS or did your brain fall out?

"another ad-" not obvious enough? Sorry I just didn't want to make another completely different thread.

It's obvious, but your point is not. Are you considering purchasing this other bike? Are you citing this bike because it looks like the one you originially posted? Assuming you're interested in this other multi-geared bike, what does the ad say? Again, it's difficult to determine whether it's a good deal or even worth looking at with only partial information.
