Hi, New to single speeds, (havent ridden a bike since jr high)
Hi everyone, I just recently purchased a 2010 Langster from my local shop, felt really really fun to ride! I have not ridden a bike since Jr High (Im 24 now) Im a avid runner/bodyboarder/skimmer so Im very in fit and prone to using my legs.
the question is, I need pedals. I dont want the all out BEST ones out there you know? I just spent almost $750 bucks on a bike.
any suggestions
ps, dont link that stupid google page link thing lol

your bike comes with pedals go back to the shop and ask for them. I dont know why bike shops dont give them to you. I have a feeling its to sell you a new pair.

It's not a stupid question if you don't know - it's uninformed. You are probably going to be crucified for asking that here, so I'm going to go ahead and give you a straight answer without the bull****:
Yes, that price is for the pair of pedals. They are typically sold by the pair. Virtually every price given for pedals is going to be for the pair.

Every bicycle I've ever bought in a LBS was ready to ride when I took it. And if they had tried to give it me without pedals I would have told them to go **** themselves.

Now, many LBS will screw in some cheap plastic things, 'test ride pedals' they're typically called, simply because they won't last much longer than a test ride. If that's what you want on your brand new bike, well like I said, pedals are a personal choice, and if you choose crap that can't be helped.

really? you haven't noticed that most bikes nowadays don't come with pedals? It's pretty common, cause it would suck if you were a Look fan, and bought a bike with SPDs, or worse, flats. Now, it would be stupid to buy a new pair of shoes just for that bike, and a pain to have to sell off the pedals to recoup some of your investment. Pedals are a personal choice, so most higher end bikes wisely leave that choice to the purchaser.

I don't like sylvans.
The spur is way too small on the back, and if they get wet the metal of the pedal itself offers zero traction for flipping the pedal. If you use flat-soled shoes (like my well-worn tigers) they are almost impossible to flip at any kind of speed. Then there's the annoying lip at the front before your toe hits the cage, which is equally annoying.
GR-9s are much better.

I like them much better than clips/straps. Managed to get the pedals and shoes from eBay for about $125.
