DMD lite Sat 11/7 103/8000'

A few of us are planning on a Devil Mountain Double lite ride on Saturday. We tried it a few months ago on a ridiculously hot day and cut it short on Vasco road. This time the weather is cooler! Start at Sycamore Valley Park n Ride right next to 680. Climbs include Mt. Diablo south side, Morgan Territory and Patterson Pass. 103 miles, 8000' climbing according to bikely. Right now the plan is an 8am departure time. Jim, Glenn, Colnago or any other East Bay'rs??

Really sounds like a lot of fun.

I've got a Saturday commitment with the famdamily that I can't miss.

On the plus side, I'm playing hooky tomorrow and riding from Livermore to Diablo and back.

Darn it.

I'm tied up on Saturday, too - besides, you guys always just climb away from me on these rides!

Jim, I might see you - I'm hitting the mountain early tomorrow (it helps to live just a few miles from the gate!).

Darn, I have a previous commitment for Saturday too. I did a Diablo summit - Morgan Territory loop last week from Pleasanton. The weather was perfect and there was even some autumn color on the north side of Morgan Territory Rd. Have fun guys. Thanks for the invite - maybe next time...

We are going to alter the route. Reverse classic loop counter-clockwise starting from Sycamore park & ride. Up the plunge, up north side back to cars, skipping patterson. Only problem is water. Blackhawk Rd shopping center is only 4 miles into the ride. Looks like there is a Firestation at Lusitano farther along Camino Tassajara then nothing until the MT gravel parking lot.

Shouldn't be a problem. If you're skipping Patterson Pass, it should only be about 20 miles (and ~2000 feet of climb) to the Morgan Territory parking lot.

Even though it's only 5 miles into your ride, there are also water fountains at the Mustang Soccer complex next to that firehouse.

90% chance when we get to stop sign after plunge a group vote would want to turn right to shorten the ride. Since we always do that ride doing it counter clockwise changes it up.

Great ride, but still sore the next morning. The plunge really kicked my butt, with climbs hovering between 12-17%.
