The ONE thing that could make the new forum a success
As much information per page as the old forum had; make it just as easy to access.
That's it.
Everything else is stylistic complaints, but on this one issue, from a technical and human factors standpoint, the new forum is a collossal step in the wrong direction.
After that if the Fisher Price graphics and all the other "bells and whistles" stay around, very few people will care.
The change made is as if the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal suddenly decided to mimic USA Today.

I'm thinking that the purpose of less information on each page is to generate more page views so ads get viewed more.

IMO the lower info density is a side effect of "sexy graphics". But then, I don't wear a tinfoil hat...
I do agree, though, that the info density of the old style sheet was better. Tom et al. probably agree. I expect this will be improved with a new theme.
