We get a lot of sleet and cold rain storms in Iowa this time of year, so I limit myself to 15 miles a day of commuting. If the temps are below freezing I usually limit myself to commuting to work, class, and quick errands.

I'm at 265 miles so far this November. Its been mild in Chicago, everyday this month (until yesterday) has been warmer & dryer than the averages. I'll ride 80+ miles on Saturday.
I'll ride as long as the roads are 99% ice free and temps are at 20f or above.

I grew up in Thousand Oaks Ca and this is typical there for this time of year. Even though the weather is nice year round many cyclist seem to take a "seasonal" approach to their riding. In Ga, my current location, most cyclist are of the road/trail now. I went riding yesterday on the Greenway and there were about 10 others. That is the most I have seen in a couple of weeks. But during the summer I would have easily seen 25 or more on that same ride.

I'm still out there but I cut back significantly on my commuting miles as I go much shorter/safer routes when dark.....i wear tights, but they are only just warm enough to keep the chill away otherwise my legs would go numb....
CA cold is different from other states. I'm from MD and 40-50s here (CA) is different feeling than 40-50s in MD. And I've talked to someone in CO (born and raised in CO) who confirmed my theory.

With the holidays, time change, and getting colder, there are less people out riding, walking, and doing outside activities. I personally have been ridding a lot of miles trying to make up being off the bike from mid-Sept to late Oct. For Nov 365 miles and still several more days to ride.
