help with 26 x 2.125 tyres
I have a mountain bike with with 26 x 2.125 tyre, with deep tread. Can I replace these with a more road suitable tyre? I've had a quick look and not found this:
https://www.ridelow.co.uk/index.php?m...oducts_id=1290
It says tube sold seperately. Assuming there's nothing wrong with the tube in my current tyres, can I just swap the tubes over?
Also can I fit thinner tyres or does the 2.125 measurement have to be exact?
It's a pretty old bike and has Woods valves, I don't know if that's a problem, but one of them leaks and I am intending to replace the woods valve but keep both the tubes. I don't know if it would be easier to just buy new tubes.

Those will work or you can go thinner. Before I bought a road bike I had an extra set of 26" wheels with very skinny slicks for road training. A new tube would be a good idea.

Thanks, I am thinking of getting these tyres
https://www.evanscycles.com/products/...-tyre-ec004845
but there doesn't seem to be any tubes on this site for 26 x 1.25
https://www.evanscycles.com/categorie...es/inner-tubes
Will any of the tubes listed work with this tyre?

Well 1.25 may be a little narrow for the rim your using(you need to find the width of the rim)... you can get tubes for 1.25-1.5 allover... stuffing a 1.75-2.1 tube into a 1.25 tire may be a challenge

well the bike was sold to me with 2.125 tyres on it, so thats probably the rim size. I think I'll go with something wider then, maybe 1.75 at the minimum

I don't know what you mean, I haven't shown any pictures of my current tyres. but anyways, the ones I have have a very deep tread, and I only use it for the road.

Yes, that tire will work. If you are looking for something with better rolling resistance than your present tires, you couldm go down in size to a 1.50-1.75 city type tire. I have that on my mountain bike, now, that I ride most everywhere on paved roads. But, they have much less traction off road !!
