Yak-tracs

I learned the other day that you can, (if you have platform pedals as described by Sheldon Brown)
ride a bike with Yak-Trax on.

In New England we have nine months of winter and three months of damned poor sledding.

Yes, that is what I am talking about.
I tried them so that if I needed to put a foot down, it wouldn't slide out from under me.
Worked like a charm.

I just tried them out on my winter bike. Worked fine and I might start using them full time. I have had a couple of experience where I traveled some distance on studded tires, then got off the bike for some reason and discovered I couldn't stand up.

That is what happened to me, which is why I tried riding and wearing Yak-Trax.
