anyone deal with the sparton frame guy in South Carolina?
last year i bought a sparton frame from jorge over ebay. it was great, shipped out that day and i built it up and have been riding it ever since. great frame for the price and exactly what i expected.
so when they offered their di atessa frames, i bought one for my wife. it was said to have been drilled for brakes and had track dropouts. when it arrived the first thing i noticed was that it wasnt drilled for brakes. no biggie, i can get those drilled out here. then i tried to set up the wheels and realized the rear spacing was like 100 or 110, but not 120 and the dropouts were quick release and didnt fit track hubs.
so i contacted jorge at spartonframeusa.com and he told me to send it back and he would fix it and get it back to me. he also said he would refund my shipping. so i sent it back. 1 month later i contacted him and got no response. 2 months later i contacted him and got no response. he finally got back to me and said he was in south america dealing with the frames to import. no big deal, i am patient and understanding.
3 months later, and i still didnt have my frame. so i asked about a refund on the whole thing. he said no problem, but it might take a bit because he was short on cash ($300 come on) and he was having some trouble. like i said i am patient and understanding, and im finding out this is for sure a fault.
after many heated emails from me and many lies and broken promises from jorge at sparton frame, i still do not have my money back. it is january 1, 2010, and i sent the frame back july 20, 2009. i know it is my own fault for waiting so long, to the point where paypal and ebay cannot do anything about this they say.
so does anyone here live in south carolina and deal with this guy in his shop? is the shop still around? the website is under construction and i havent gotten an email back from him in a month. it looks as though he has pulled all his product off of ebay.
he has stolen my money and im not sure i can get it back. any suggestions?
thanks

that guy looks so untrustworthy it's not funny.
Watch out with a hit though, he could be Italian. His family could come after you

I think you have your answer right there. Your bike is in the sinuses of a banker right now.

If you can find the address you shipped it to you can always buy a bunch of stuff with the "Bill me later" option and send it to his place.
