I try to buy my first bicycle, but I don't know what to buy.

You need to narrow down your question much more.
You need to provide much more information, about you and about what you want to do.
What bike you should get depends on what you want to do with it.
You also need to indicate how much you want to spend.
Basically, bikes from well-known companies at similar prices are going to be very close in quality. You won't go too wrong with any bike at about $1000+ but you won't get a lot of benefit with spending more than about $2000.
Do more homework!

A lot of companies now make "cafe cruiser" stye of bike, they are good for cruising a few miles over flat roads (and looking good) but not much more. They tend to have too much metal and weight a lot.
To most urban riders, a well designed bike is lightweight, agile, suitable equiped for your needs with luggage rack, fenders, lights as required, and well fitting.

Giant, Specialized, Cannondale, Trek and Kona are all reputable designs with a wide range of bikes. What type is best depends on what you want to do with it.

You should delete this thread. Do some basic research. Narrow down and rephrase your question. Or you will be ridiculed to no end here. And the reason is that your question doesn't make a lot of sense the way it is now.
Some things to consider:
Have you ever ridden a bike before? What was your experience?
Are you completely new to biking? Do you know how to ride one?
What do you mean by "good design": style and looks or quality, functionality and reliability?
What country and climate you're in?
How big and tall are you?
What's your age, gender and physical condition?
Is it for money saving reasons or physical/recreation benefit?
How will you use your bike: recreational riding (park, bikeways), commuting (rural, city), off road/trail, pavement, workout/weight loss, utility (carrying stuff) etc.
What's your budget?
