I hope the book gives some well-deserved credit to his doctors.

[That's right, let's get this started.]

He's won the most TDF's, but the Tour is not the end all and be all of bike racing. He has consistently been able to surround himself with riders that guarantee his victories but he's a one pony show. Never really won any other significant races other than the Tour. Not like Merxck that in several seasons won the tour and the vuelta, or the Giro, as well as several classics.

i mean say what you will about his focus but smashing a mountain time trial on the final day of the tdf is hardly the simple matter of surrounding yourself with cronies who spirit you along to victory.

dude can ride a bike.

more importantly hes entertaining and charming and an *******. like all the great sporting champs. the personalities are half the fun of watching.

Meh, I really like him. I mean, say what you will about him only being a Tour rider, something of an *******, and a possible doper, the fact is that even if he's not the greatest rider of all time he's among the greatest, he does good things with his foundation, and he's great as far as giving our relatively niche sport a prominent face in the media.
