Cutting Easton CT2 Carbon bar

I took everything off of my bars this weekend, new cables and new grips etc. I noticed that one end of my carbon bar is cracked. Looks like it got more or less crushed by the barend. It is confined to just then end of the bar. Has anyone ever cut their carbon bar? I think if I cut about an inch off of each side, it would still be plenty long. Would that ruin the structural integrity of the bar?
