Your GPS directions ON the road

Just stumbled over this. A fun novelty, but might as well stick with a standard GPS IMO. It's just shifting the visual part of the unit a few feet ahead of you. Plus varying road surfaces may make it difficult to read. Would look solid in the dark though What do you think?

For those cyclists in the market for a sat nav, it’s much easier and safer for them to be looking at the road ahead than a handlebar-mounted screen

That would be great as long as you only travel at night. Even green lasers, even just a point, aren't really visible in full sun. Spread them out with a holographic pattern like that and there's zero point zero chance of ever even seeing it.

I'm thinking there would be a danger that the beam would distract/be in the eyes of oncoming motorists, especially if the unit gets knocked out of alignment during a ride. I'll stick with my Garmin Nuvi 500 w/ spoken directions.

Yeah wet surfaces would probably also play havoc with it. And I doubt that the battery life would win any longevity prizes. I'd likely end up constantly watching it and crash anyway!
