1983 Miyata 310 - am I asking too much?
Hi team,
I've been debating selling my Miyata 310 just to clear out some room. It's probably the only bike I would part with that is worth anything. I picked it up at a police auction about 15 years ago for cheap, but I've seen them go for a couple hundred bucks on eBay and local CL (NYC).
The frame is in decent shape despite some minor dings and scratches (27 years old). Replaced steel 27" Araya rims with 700c Wolber alloys I had from a trashed bike. Also Brooks B17 saddle in black. Beyond that, just basic maintenance - it rides perfectly.
Don't have any photos on this computer, but I could post some if necessary.
If I can't get more than say $200 I would probably just keep it. What do you guys think I should ask for? Last summer I was offered $300 by a guy I work with but at the time did not want to sell it.

How bad do you want to sell it? If you don't care, how long it takes, just post it for $300 at your local CL. It might take a while, but as it gets warmer people will be buying more. You already had a $300 offer, so you might get another buyer at that level. Brooks and Wolber 700c help a lot

Thanks! Good point - I'm not in a rush to sell it. I will probably post and wait.

Would not sell that high ($300) around here, but you are in a different market. I would swap out the seat and sell it separately, but I have quite a few spare donor seats around. It would sell for the $200 mark pretty easily, depending on condition of course.
Good luck!
Good luck!
