Rock Racing Gear - Cool/Uncool?

I've never seen anyone wearing their stuff so was curious if it is acceptable to wear. Got into a debate yesterday with another cyclist, i like their anarchy jersey but apparently the thought is if you wear them you're a dbag, the Ed Hardy / Affliction of cycling clothes. While I can kind of see it, i still think the jerseys look good and are definitely different from everything else out there...

What's everyone think?

There is no way on this earth that I would spend 170 bucks on a freaking jersey. Come on the whole spray painted anarchy logo? Why look like a 7th grade kiddie metal wanna be?

If it makesYOU happy go right ahead and buy it and wear it. I have no problem with people wearing a pro team jersey or shorts, it's just the people who are decked out in the entire team kit with a replica team bike that I make fun of.

As a side note Ihave been know to wear on an old 7-11 jersey, or perhaps a hat from some disgraced doping team.

I think RR just started selling bibs and jerseys within the last few months. That may be why you haven't seen others wearing it.
Is it acceptable? It would be if RR didn't have Cadillac as a sponsor.

If you like it wear it. It shouldn't matter to you what the rest of us think. Oh and for RonH, you gotta admit that those CTS coupes with the roof rack look pretty sweet compared to some of the Subaru's and Volvo's out there. Form over function... or should it be the other way around.

Who cares who the sponsor is? People were basket ball team jerseys and some of their players drive "slades" Baseball jerseys and many of their players not only do drugs but bet on the game. It is the team that is cool and if you like the jersey wear it. Though I would only wear it if I got a great deal like the 55 bucks I paid for the Bibd last summer.

After RR finally goes under, their gear will be ironically cool.

I wouldn't wear a jersey that fugly if I got it for free, never mind spending that kind of cash. But hey, those who like them, can wear them.

+1 Got the Bibs because they have an outlet in Cabazon by Palm Springs. I think it is Rock Republic or something like that. They sell cloths that remind me of Quicksilver. But I was surprised to see Rock Racing cycling cloths there and scored on the Bibs. They didn't have a jersey in my size left. But they do get your attention and people do ask about them so I guess they are cool.

If you like it then buy it and wear it.

If anyone says boo about it make sure that (1) You have cigarette and some smoke to blow in the jerks face; or
(2) You are (a)a faster rider, or (b) you are commfortable being slower (and have a cigarette to blow smoke in his face).

If you have the money to spend on the jersey and/or bibs and that makes you happy, then so WHAT? Why does everyone get so hung up on whether it this or that makes you look like a noob/dbag/etc?

I buy and wear what I like - not buying it to please anyone else buy myself.

Sorry wearing "Rocks not dead" over my crotch just doesn't do it for me. The sin of wearing this style of cycling shorts is second to wearing all white ones.

Styles and fashions come and go but the one cool thing about being a cyclist is you can wear what you want and wear what you like. If you are comfortable in cargo pants and a “Che” T-Shirt with sandals or you want to look like Lance you can. I have yet to attend a group ride where anyone complains if someone else is wearing Rock Racing or an old Discovery Jersey. Cyclists show up wearing White, Red, Black and any other combination or colors and they fit in just fine. People wear cycling cloths for a reason, comfort and practicality. If they wish to add style to that that seems like a good thing. At least it beats no style unless no style happens to be your Vanilla. I understand Vanilla is the most popular flavor to the masses. That too is fine and can be cool. Rock Racing cloths will get attention and if attention is what you are looking for they will do the job.

I saw an elderly couple wearing a matching Rock Racing kit last fall. They were so cute. Probably not cool though.

Unless it was supposed to read "Rock's Not Dead", in which case it's still no more idiotic looking than any other full body lycra outfit. Seriously, nobody thinks that any of you roadies look cool, so don't worry about it.

If you wear a corporate logo, they should be paying you.
Anarchy symbols are worn by those who advocate anarchy.
Orange and black are for Hallowe'en costumes.
Otherwise, these look fine.

They sell them at a LBS here and I tried on a pair of their bibs and thought they felt great. Besides I wouldn't mind drawing a little more attention to my crotch. It could use a little more attention as of late.

That R&R apparel is tapped just like all the rest with some silly adverts. If one wants to buy and wear it, knock it out. It is not the business of others. However, I think if a man wears that stuff, he need be in shape and not roll out looking like Santa Claus.
